To withdraw seeds from an accession use the “Withdraw” button at the top right of your screen. Use “Withdraw” whenever you are removing seeds from an accession for any reason. The following are fields you can enter in when withdrawing seeds:
- Purpose: The purpose is essentially why you are removing seeds from an accession. The purposes available are:
- Nursery: Use this purpose if you are planting the seeds you are withdrawing in a nursery and want to keep track of it in the seedlings section of Terraware. This will enable you to keep track of where specific seedling batches originated from! When you select “Nursery” as your purpose you will also need to select the destination. The destination options are the nurseries that you have added to Terraware.
- Out-planting: Use this purpose if you are planting seeds out in a planting site.
- Viability Testing: Use this purpose if you are withdrawing seeds to perform a viability test. This will lead you to the viability testing form.
- Other: Use this purpose if you are not withdrawing seeds for any of the above purposes (ex. the bag has mold in it). Make sure to enter in notes so you have a record for yourself.
- Amount: This is the amount of seeds you are withdrawing. If you select nursery or viability testing as your purpose, you need to ensure that your accession has a count based quantity or has a subset weight associated with it, or else you will not be able to make a withdrawal.
- Withdrawn By: This defaults to the current user, but can be changed to anyone in the organization.
- Date: This is the date you withdrew the seeds on. It defaults to the current date but you are able to backdate if needed.
- Notes: This is a free-form text field for you to add any notes you want.
