Before users can start tracking seeds in Terraware, a Seed Bank or a location under which Accessions will be tracked, must be set up.
Users with the Admin role are able to manage Seed Banks.
To add a new Seed Bank:
- Click on Locations in the left navigation bar.
- Click on Seed Banks under Locations in the left navigation bar.
- In the Seed Banks page, click the "+ Add Seed Bank” button.
- Provide a Name for the Seed Bank.
- Provide a Description for the Seed Bank.
- If relevant, set up Sub-Locations for the Seed Bank. You will be able to select a Sub-Location when adding Accessions to Seed Banks.
- Click the "+ Add Sub-Location" button to add Sub-Locations.
- To delete Sub-Location(s) that are not relevant, in the Sub-Locations table, select the Sub-Location(s) using the checkboxes to the left of the Sub-Location Name. Then, click the "Delete" button above the table.
- Specify the Time Zone to use when sending notifications about Seed Bank activities.
- Terraware defaults to using your Organization's time zone. If a different Time Zone should be used, uncheck the "Use Organization's time zone" checkbox and select the time zone in the "Time Zone" selector.
- If relevant, provide dates for Build Start, Build Completion, and Operation Start for the Seed Bank.
- Click the "Save" button to create the Seed Bank.
To make changes to a Seed Bank:
- Click the name of the Seed Bank in the Seed Banks page to access the Seed Bank details.
- In the Seed Bank page, click the "+ Edit Seed Bank” button to edit the Seed Bank.
- Note: Seed Bank Sub-Locations that have Accessions associated with them cannot be deleted.
- Click the "Save" button to save any changes to the Seed Bank details.
