When you create a Terraware account, you'll need to be connected to an Organization before you can use the platform. An Organization is the workspace under which all your Species, Seed Banks, Nurseries, Planting Sites, and People are managed. If your Organization isn't in Terraware yet, you'll set one up yourself. If it already exists, an Admin will add you to it.
Only Owners and Admins can create and manage organizations. When you create an organization, you're automatically designated its Owner and have the same capabilities as an Admin, plus the ability to assign a new Owner.
Create an Organization during account setup
After verifying your email address, Terraware will prompt you to create an Organization if you haven't already been added to one.
- Click Create Organization in the welcome prompt.
- Fill in the following fields:
- Organization Name — required. Enter the full name of your organization.
- Description — optional. A brief description of what your organization does.
- Country — required. If your organization operates in multiple countries, select the country of your headquarters.
- Time Zone — required. Select your organization's primary time zone.
- Organization Type — required. Select the option that best describes your organization.
- Click Save to create your Organization.

Create an additional Organization
Accounts can be associated with multiple Organizations. If you're an Owner or Admin, you can create additional organizations from within Terraware at any time.
- Click the down arrow next to your Organization name at the top of the screen to open the Organization menu.
- Click Create New Organization.
- Fill in the required fields as described above.
- Click Save.
Edit your organization
- Click Organization in the left navigation.
- Click Edit Organization at the top right of the screen.
- Update any of the organization details.
- Click Save.
Delete an Organization
To delete an Organization, you must be its Owner and the only remaining user associated with it.
- Make sure you're viewing the Organization you want to delete in the Organization menu.
- Click People in the left navigation and confirm that your account is the only one remaining in the Organization.
- Check the checkbox to the left of your email address in the table.
- Click Remove in the action bar above the table.
- In the Cannot Remove screen that appears, click Delete to confirm that you want to delete the organization.
Note: Deleting an Organization is permanent and cannot be undone.
