When Planting Seasons are created with Species Targets, inventory withdrawals can be done toward the Planting Seasons. Planting Seasons' Left to Plant numbers are calculated from the numbers withdrawn for planting toward the seasons and the seasons' target numbers to plant.
Users, who manage inventory, such as nursery managers, can record Planting Withdrawals toward Planting Seasons and Planting Season dates within the regular Inventory Withdrawal flow and a dedicated Withdrawal Request flow for Planting Dates, respectively.
Planting Withdrawals for Planting Seasons
For Inventory Withdrawals recorded through the Inventory pages, including the By Species, By Nursery, and By Batch tables, as well as the Batch details pages, planting withdrawals can be done to Planting Seasons. The withdrawals are reflected in the Planting Seasons and count toward the numbers of Species Targets planted and against the numbers left to plant.
Note: These withdrawals are not associated with specific Planting Dates. To withdraw to Planting Dates, use the Withdrawal Requests for Planting Dates feature.
To record a Planting Withdraw toward a Planting Season:
- In the Purpose step of the withdrawal, select a Planting Site that has at least one open Planting Season.
- Select a Planting Season. Only open Planting Seasons are available to select.
- Selecting a season is optional. To proceed without selecting a season, select the "No Season" option.
- Select the Stratum and Substratum. The Strata and Substrata available to select are determined by the selected Planting Season.
- For reference, the Species Targets in the selected Planting Season, Stratum, and Substratum are shown, including the target quantity, and the quantity remaining to be withdrawn toward the season.
- In the Quantities step of the withdrawal, enter the quantities of Ready to Plant species to withdraw from each batch.
- Any quantity of Ready to Plant Species can be withdrawn to the season, even if there is no quantity remaining to be withdrawn to the season or the Species is not in the Species Targets of the season.
- Proceed with the rest of the withdrawal.
Withdrawals to Planting Seasons appear, as expected, within the Withdrawals page. The Withdrawals table includes a Planting Season column that can be shown/hidden, as needed. The column can also be used to filter Withdrawals by Planting Season.
Note: When plants are withdrawn to Planting Seasons, an alert banner appears in the Planting Season page so that users who manage planting activities are aware of the withdrawals.
Withdrawal Requests for Planting Planting Dates
When users create Planting Dates for Planting Seasons, they have the option to send planting withdrawal requests for the Planting Dates to the Nursery. Alert banners for Withdrawal Requests for Planting Dates appear in the Inventory pages so that users who manage seedling inventory can fulfill the requests. Planting Dates can be directly withdrawn to using a dedicated withdrawal flow for Withdrawal Requests for Planting Dates.
These Withdrawal Requests for Planting Dates are shown in the Requests tab in the Withdrawals page. The list can be filtered by Planting Site, Planting Season, and Species. All open Planting Dates matching the filter criteria are shown in the table.
All open Planting Date requests appear in the list.
Open statuses of a Planting Date:
- Pending - none of the requested numbers of species in the Planting Date request have been fulfilled.
- Partial - some, but not all, of the requested numbers of species in the Planting Date request have been fulfilled.
When a Planting Date request has been fulfilled - all of the requested numbers of species have been withdrawn to the Planting Date - the request no longer appears in the list.
To manage a Withdrawal Request:
- In the Planting Date card, click the Withdraw button.
- In the Purpose step, select a Nursery to withdraw from. A summary table shows the selected Nursery's species coverage of the species requested for the Planting Date. Use the summary table to decide from which Nursery to withdraw.
- Note: Any quantity of Ready to Plant Species can be withdrawn to the season, even if there is no quantity remaining to be fulfilled or the Species were not requested in the Planting Date.
- Click the Next button to proceed to the Quantities step.
- In the Quantities step, enter quantity to withdraw from at least one batch.
- Click the Next button to proceed to the Photos step.
- In the Photos step, optionally add photos to be associated with the withdrawal.
- Click the Withdraw button to complete the withdrawal to the Planting Date.
